AE Panel (part 2)

*This is the continue post from AE Panel (part 1). If you guys want to read this post, I suggest that you guys better read the part 1 first. Easy for you to understand more about After Effect. But if you guys already knows, then never mind. You can proceed with this post.

1. The Composition

This is the primary control over the composition that attained through two windows, the composition window and the timeline window. The first of these two which is the first picture is the composition window. It displays both a rendering of the current frame as well as the surrounding paste board for object envelope reference. This window also we can be called as the preview of your design. All your effect will appear at here.

The second window is the timeline window, which is the second picture. This window provides all the functionality of a timeline. You guys must need give more focus to this panel because this is where you will managing the timelime for your video to add many effect. At this window you guys will managing the keyframe of all layer.

2. Background Color

The default background color of your composition is black. It is very important to understand that a composition’s background color is of no consequence to the final animation unless it is the last composition in your project before the render. In other words, if you set the background color to green and then render it while nested in a composition with a background color of red, the animation will have red and not green in the background.

Other option to setting background is by using solid layer. Then you can choose the color that what you want to be as your background. Choose your background color in order to aid you in making your edits. Only when it comes time to render should your focus be on a background color as the actual color of the background. To set the background color of a composition:

  • Choose: Composition > Background Color

You will be presented with the Background Color dialogue. Use the available eye dropper to select a color from your composition or the interface. You may also click on the swatch to access system level color pickers.

3. Keep These 3 Palettes Open Too

The tools pallet functions the same as it does across the Adobe Creative Suite. In other word their tool almost same for all the Adobe software. However, this is still a primary tool repository and, especially while editing your masks.

The information pallet, like the tools pallet before it acts as it does across Adobe Creative Suite. You will find it to be a critical reference, however it is for reference only as it is not interactive.

The timeline controls act much the same as they would on a DVD deck, with a number of added render related functions. At here you can play your video editing as preview of your video. Since constant playback of either a few consecutive frames or whole sections of footage are required to get a feel for the effectiveness of your edits, I recommend that this pallet gets permanent screen time as well. Ok, this is only what I will talk about. See for the next tutorial about After Effect panel (part 3).
