AE Panel (part 3)

*This is the continue post from AE Panel (part 2). If you guys want to read this post, I suggest that you guys better read the part 2 first. Easy for you to understand more about After Effect. But if you guys already knows, then never mind. You can proceed with this post. Please click the image to enlarge.

1. Timeline Switches Explained

Number 1::Video = I guess video is a good name if you’re coming from an online mixer background, this could be thought of as a video switcher. I would have called it visibility. It toggles the layers visibility on and off for the composition.

Number 2::Audio = Audio switch is same as Video but this is only for sound only.

Number 3::Solo = This switch, toggles all other channels and layers off and on again. In other word it will only do the layer that switch to solo only. It will not disturb other layer. So, you can edit the layer without affect other layer.

Number 4::Lock = With this switch on, none of the layer’s characteristics may be altered.

2. More in Timeline Switches Explained

Number 1::Shy = This is the opposite of video. You can still see the layers contents in the composition, but any reference to it in the timeline is hidden. This is an interface-clutter management tool.

Number 2::Continuously-rasterize = Can make the image much better which is from not clear at the outer side of image into clear. In other word it just like make the image more sharp. See the difference image below.

Number 3::Quality = Can make the image much better which is from not clear at the outer side of image into clear. In other word it just like make the image more sharp. See the difference image below.

Number 4::Effect = Toggles the layers effects on and off.

Number 5::Frame-blend = Footage will look like across-dissolve between its adjacent frames, however, during playback it will achieve a much less jerky motion than that of out-of-synch-footage that hasn’t been frame-blended.

Number 6::Motion-blur = A dynamic blur effect that calculates both trajectory and velocity per pixel, to produce a believable simulation of cinematic shutter duration.

Number 7::Adjustment layer = Effects on this layer are applied to layers below it. Identical to Photoshop adjustment layers with the addition of key-frame enabled animation.

Number 8::3D layer = Adds the Z plane to all spatial parameters, allowing the layer to be animated in three dimensions.
